SSL Certificate continuous failed

Trying to set up a load balancer. Created the initial load balancer server. DNS is pointing to the right IP and propagated. Setting up the initial load balnced site as “Static HTML,” continues fails.

Hello @webify - it does look like running port checks on the server shows ports 80 and 443 are closed - which will cause SSL to fail. The firewall tool we use shows them as being open. This means there may either be another firewall running on the server blocking the ports or the hosting provider has them closed for some reason.

I’d recommend checking your hosting provider’s console to see if there is a security section showing the ports as being closed.

Thank you for your response. I’m familiar with setting up servers and using Caddy to issue and renew SSL certificates. However, I’m paying for your service specifically to offload these responsibilities. I’ve ensured everything on my end is up to date, and I’ve only used your platform to install and configure these components.

I’m not going to troubleshoot this further myself, as I don’t work for you—I followed your instructions step-by-step. I can see that the port isn’t responding, but your software handled the server setup; I simply clicked the buttons as guided. I’m perfectly capable of SSHing into my server and managing this manually, but I signed up for your service to receive support and reduce my workload.

Please feel free to log into my account and set it up yourself. This is extremely basic and trivial functionality. I chose your service based on your promise that I could focus on coding and shipping, yet I’ve prepaid for this, only to spend over two hours trying to resolve it. In that same time, I could have done it all manually myself. Please deliver on the promises you advertise.

@amiedema

Thanks for providing additional details.

I was able to reproduce - appears to be a bug with HAProxy installation on Ubuntu 24.04. We’ll work in a fix; in the meantime, if you need a workaround you can provision a new load balancer using 22.04.

@amiedema Great, kind of knew the ball is in your yard.

Please let me know when the “bug” is fixed so I can restart everything.

P.S. Automated testing would catch these kinds of mistakes, proving that the “just ship it” mentality is overrated

@amiedema I just set up the server with the old version of Ubuntu, and the load balancer is now working. I linked the first server and the first site, but I’m getting the next error message. You don’t need to fix it. I prepaid for one year. Please keep the one-month fee and refund the remaining 11 months.
