How do I change domain to a sub domain?

What is the correct way to change from a free cleavr domain to a sub domain such as api.mydomain.com?

Hello @jord,

The best way is to add the domain, including sub-domain, to the Rename Domain tab in the settings section.

You’d need to make sure to point the A Record for the subdomain to the server’s public IP.

Hi,

while reading this post I was wondering why is it possible to change the free Cleavr domain and not a regular domain name? I understand that there are some paths that need to get changed and maybe it’s necessary/better to delete current SSL certs first. It would be really helpful to change the domain name for a site.

Hey Olaf,

We have plans for the feature to change the domain for any site whether it’s a free domain or a custom one. We really want to work on this feature but right now we’ve some other things on top priorities. But we’ll obviously work on it.
